INTRODUCING THE ONLY NATIONAL CONSUMER MAGAZINE DEVOTED TO THE UK’S MOST CHERISHED FLAVOURS OF SPICE.
(Chaat Magazine is published quarterly)
Chaat! Magazine is a delightful read for those who love a bit of spice!

What’s in Issue 23?

October is National Curry Week and what better reason to visit your local
restaurant, or even invite friends and family round for a great curry night, utilising all the fantastic recipes we have in the magazine (We’d do both every night that week!) Indian Restaurants on the high street and in the suburbs have been the backbone of the curry industry, which have introduced the flavours and spices that Britain as a nation have grown to love, and without whom – our magazine would not be possible.

This issue packed with 25 recipes for you to enjoy, we have also spoken to Atul Kocchar about his restaurant, Benares, and the new curry musical Half ‘N Half opens in Cardiff – which city will it go to next? And speaking of travel, we’ve got some great destination articles for you including Alan Coxon’s trip to “paradise on earth” in Kerala and up and coming African hotspot – Ghana.
In keeping with food trends, we look at Gluten Free and Vegan recipes and Mridula Baljekar has become a story teller this issue, exploring the
history of the Chicken Tikka Masala.

The doctor always said to eat an apple a day, and while not strictly one of your five, we have a great feature on cider with some scrumptious cider based cocktails.

We’ve enjoyed testing some great products including BetterGhee – perfect for sweet and savoury cooking – www. carotino.co.uk/betterghee

Our Red Lentils are of the highest quality, going through a vigorous re-cleaning, polishing & de-stoning process at our state of the art facility. Red lentils are arguably the most popular of the lentil variety being a favourite in dishes such as red lentil curries, stews and soups. Their short cooking time and ease of use makes them a family favourite. Lentils, a staple food in Indian homes and Indian Cooking, they are the seeds of plants of the 'Leguminosae' family. They posses the natural property of absorbing the flavours of spices added to them during the cooking process. Lentils are grown in warm temperate zones, and are an excellent source of protein and fibre. With an extremely low fat content, they make a healthy and nutritious meal for everyone and are a very good vegetarian alternative to meat dishes in Indian cooking.
